On February 27, the Vinita High School Wind Ensemble qualified for state contest by receiving a rating of I or superior at district contest. They will perform at the state band contest at Oklahoma State University, April 20-22. A sax quartet including Matthew Butner, Xavier Idleman, Ryan Lucas, and Forrest Blount also received a superior rating and will perform at state contest.
