OU Band Day

I recently received an email inviting students to a band day at the University of Oklahoma on September 4.  The email and flyer I received are attached.  Click “continue reading…” for more information on this event.

Greetings from The Pride of Oklahoma!

I hope your year is ending well as you are beginning to look forward to the upcoming marching season.

I am very excited to tell you that thanks to the cooperation of the OU Athletics Department, The Pride of Oklahoma is once again inviting high school band members to join us on the field as part of a special Band and Spirit Day performance! This exciting event will take place on Saturday, September 4, 2010 in conjunction with the Oklahoma vs. Utah State game.

Here are the important details:

*   Student cost is $52 per person (plus a $5 handling fee/ticket ordered) and includes: *   Attending and participating in the Pride rehearsal that day *   Enjoying a box lunch together before the game *   Receiving an OU HS Band and Spirit Day T-shirt, exclusive to participants *   Performing a “standstill” number at halftime with the 2010 Pride of Oklahoma in front of 85,000 fans! *   A reserved seat for the OU vs. Utah State game *   Individual band members or their parents/directors can fill out our Registration Form ONLINE at http://bands.vdbg.us/bandandspiritday NO LATER THAN June 30th at 5 PM.   All orders will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and tickets are subject to availability. *   Kickoff time for this game has not yet been determined. Logistical information about game day will be sent to each participant at the EMAIL ADRESSES PROVIDED DURING ONLINE REGISTRATION once the kickoff has been confirmed (Please be sure the email address is correct, since that is how we will be contacting you). *   Parents and Directors can purchase tickets for $52 (plus a $5 handling fee/ticket) as well. Please note that ONLY high school band participants will be provided with lunch and granted field access at halftime. (If bringing a bus load of students, don’t forget about a ticket for the bus driver!) We are very excited at the prospect of having some of your students join us at halftime of the OU vs. Utah State game.
