On March 16, 17 students from Vinita High School and Ewing Hallsel Middle School were selected as members of the 2012 Mid-East Oklahoma Band Directors Association All-District Band. MEOBDA is made up of 30 schools in our area who are in class 4A or smaller. Students prepare 4 prescribed etudes which they perform for 2 judges who score them and select the best from all those that entered. The following 17 students from Vinita were selected:

- Jesse Bowen – 7th Grade Honor Band – 9th Seat Trumpet
- Chase Childers – Junior High Honor Band – 5th Seat Trombone
- Parker Childers – 7th Grade Honor Band – 13th Seat Clarinet
- Hunter Fraley – 7th Grade Honor Band – 9th Seat Flute
- Jakob French – Junior High Honor Band – 2nd Seat Percussion I
- Marshall Cook – High School Honor Band – 3rd Seat Tuba
- Xavier Idleman – High School Honor Band – 5th Seat Alto Sax
- Ryan Miller – High School Honor Band – 4th Seat Tuba
- Sean Perdue – 7th Grade Honor Band – 8th Seat Trombone
- Ben Pitts – Junior High Honor Band – 2nd Seat Euphonium
- Cierra Riley – High School Honor Band – 4th Seat Trombone
- Collins Sanders – Junior High Honor Band – 1st Seat Percussion III
- Gabriel Sooter – 7th Grade Honor Band – 1st Seat Alto Sax
- David Turnbough – High School Honor Band – 8th Seat Flute
- Anthony Wynn – 7th Grade Honor Band – 3rd Seat Trombone

These students, along with the other members of the All-District band will present a concert at Oologah High School on February 7 at 7:00 PM. The concert is free and open to the public.
