I hope your year is ending well as you are beginning to look forward to the upcoming marching season.
I am very excited to tell you that thanks to the cooperation of the OU Athletics Department, The Pride of Oklahoma is once again inviting high school band members to join us on the field as part of a special Band and Spirit Day performance! This exciting event will take place on Saturday, September 8, 2012 in conjunction with the Oklahoma vs. Florida A&M game.

Here are the important details:
FOR STUDENTS:
Student cost is $55 per person (plus a $5 handling fee/ticket ordered) and includes (at no additional cost):
* Attending and participating in the Pride rehearsal that day
* Enjoying a box lunch together before the game (exclusive to participants only)
* Receiving a 2012 OU HS Band and Spirit Day T-shirt (exclusive to participants only)
* Performing a “standstill” number at halftime with the 2012 Pride of Oklahoma in front of 85,000 fans! (exclusive to participants only)
* A reserved seat for the OU vs. FAMU game
* Individual band members or their parents/directors can fill out our Registration Form ONLINE at
http://bands.ou.edu/bandandspiritday/ NO LATER THAN July 23rd at 5 PM. All orders will be processed on a first-come, first-served basis and tickets are subject to availability.
* Kickoff time for this game has not yet been solidified. Logistical information about game day will be sent to each participant at the EMAIL ADRESSES PROVIDED DURING ONLINE REGISTRATION once the kickoff has been confirmed (Please be sure the email address is correct and one that is checked, since that is how we will be contacting you).
FOR DIRECTORS/PARENTS/BUS DRIVERS or any other adults attending:
* Parents and Directors can purchase tickets for $55 each (plus a $5 handling fee/ticket) as well. Please note that ONLY high school band participants will be provided lunch, a t-shirt, and granted field access at halftime. (If bringing a bus load of students, don’t forget about a ticket for the bus driver!) Your purchase price includes a ticket only.
We are very excited at the prospect of having your students join us at halftime of the OU vs. FAMU game. Wow, has this year flown by or what? It seems like just yesterday we were starting another school year and here we are nearly at the end. As the end of the year approaches it is time to celebrate the achievements of the students in all of our bands with their spring concert. The concert will be held at the Vinita High School Cafeteria at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 24. Students should all be in the High School Bandroom by 5:40 P.M.
